Nathan Peebles (N8), Robbie Joe Smith (RJS), Chris Tuijtel

Nathan, Rob, & Chris crossed musical pathways twenty-five years ago in La County (Perth, Ontario). N8, a singer / songwriter and accomplished guitarist also plays keyboard and mandolin. RJS is a harmonica player/ lyricist. Chris plays percussion. Magically they melded their talents into an urban blues genre.

N8 is originally from Perth but has been in Calgary for twenty years. He is a baker, a Red Seal carpenter and is naturally musically talented. He has played with various bands/projects including Tin Grin, Deicha & The Vududes, and NiteLife.

RJS is a fourth-generation railroader & blues guy. When Sunshine Sonny Payne interviewed him on air in Helena, Arkansas on King Biscuit Time, he attributed RJS’s harp affinity to working the railroad. “It’s enough to give anyone the blues”.  RJS played with Last Fatal Duo, Tin Grin and Stewart Park Festival events in Perth. He resides in Stratford and Vancouver.

Chris is a musician, artist, & technical advisor. He joins CSM in the studio sessions. He was the drummer for Tin Grin—Perth, Ontario, and along with Nathan, the technical & artistic influencer for their album. Chris has resided in Calgary for 25 years where he is a Tang Soo Do instructor.

They have collaborated on many (original) songs which they now perform as Chicago Smith Music. They write and play from heart and soul; their material emanates from creative application to life experiences.

Country roots to city living…Urban Blues.
